Establishing Elite Eta Chapter was a long journey that finally came to fruition in 2017.

Thirteen mujeres saw the need to create a welcoming space for women of color at the UC Santa Barbara campus. Together they established F.L.O.R. (Feminine Leaders in Outreach for la Raza) in 2014 and continued pursuing their dreams of expansion. Throughout this time, there were many obstacles with the administration and continuously demonstrating the need for an organization like Phi Lambda Rho. However, these ladies pushed through with the support of other sisters and understood that establishing was essential for the future successes of other women at UCSB.

PHLOR continued to grow and hosted events that embodied the objectives of FLR: promotion of the Chicana/Latina Culture, Academic Excellence, Community Service, and Sisterhood. These mujeres paved the way for expansion, not only for Phi Lambda Rho but for aspiring multi-cultural fraternities and sororities as well.
